Imagination launches imaging framework for Android

January 9, 2015 — ImaginaTIon Technologies (IMG.L) introduces the new PowerVR Imaging Framework for Android: This is a software component that takes full advantage of the inherent low-power parallelism of PowerVR Rogue GPUs. It assists OEMs in integrating the latest computaTIonal photography and computer vision capabilities into camera applications.

Advanced visual and computational photography features, including HDR (high dynamic range), panoramic sTItching, manual recognition and augmented reality, require a lot of processing power. Today, most OEMs still rely on the CPU/DSP core to meet this performance requirement, but due to the thermal limitations of the device, these processors are unable to provide stable video-level processing for HD content.

The GPU's extensive parallel processing architecture is well suited for many image processing algorithms. The PowerVR Imaging Framework imaging framework tightly integrates the GPU with other system components such as camera sensors, ISP (image signal processor), CPU and other specific SoC hardware to create a programmable image that can be easily built into OEM camera applications Process pipeline. With the superior power and performance efficiency of PowerVR GPUs, ImaginaTIon's OEM partners are now able to deploy advanced video features in camera applications before the new SoCs have yet to build dedicated hardware designs—all with smart phones, The limited power consumption of tablets and other consumer devices is realized within budget.

Peter McGuinness, director of multimedia technology sales at Imagination, said: "Using PowerVR's Imaging Framework imaging framework, we can help customers and their OEMs easily leverage differentiated features for their camera applications with existing SoCs without the need to increase hardware costs."

Kai Pang, senior product manager at ASUS, said: "Imagination's PowerVR image technology provides better features for mass-market products and is available to more consumers."

PowerVR Imaging Framework imaging framework for Android

PowerVR Imaging Framework for Android The PowerVR imaging framework for Android includes a set of extension software for OpenCL and EGL application programming interfaces (APIs) that enable efficient zero-copy sampling of YUV and RGB camera data. For example, this extension software can directly process the YUV data format to speed up algorithms that only compute luminance data. Another extension software can be used to configure the hardware to dynamically convert YUV data to RGB format while sampling.

This architecture also includes low-level functionality that integrates these zero-copy extension software within the camera HAL (hardware abstraction layer). Once integrated, these extensions can be used to overcome any limitations of the camera lens, ISP (image signal processor) hardware feature set or Android camera application. Customers have leveraged the zero-copy feature in the architecture to build accelerated visual applications without any additional coherency hardware.

Imagination is working with a number of software partners to help them showcase new computing photography and vision solutions, some of which will be on display at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES). With a deep knowledge of image processors, GPUs, video encoders and embedded CPUs, as well as expertise in heterogeneous processing and computing APIs, including OpenCL, RenderScript and OpenGL ES 3.0, and emerging visual application APIs such as OpenVX, Imagination is unique. It has the advantage to help partners develop innovative vision systems.

McGuinness added: "Based on the initial usage plan, we have provided this image platform to key partners. I am very pleased to see that our software partners have built a strong visual ecosystem for PowerVR computing technology and made significant progress. ""

Michael Minkevich, vice president of technical services at Luxoft, said: "Imagination's Imaging Framework imaging framework enables us to efficiently create a variety of computational photography technologies on the GPU, including image denoising, architecture and detail enhancement, and HDR for PowerVR. Users provide the most value. The reference camera display application included in the Imaging Framework imaging framework helps us present a near-commercial solution for end OEMs."

It is single signal transmission programmable led pixel strip. Only with One Data wire. the same as WS2811 and SK6812

But It is difference,the WS2812B is just addressable individually, IC just inside on the led.just have DC5V Working Voltage, can be control by extend controller to achieve the flash, movies and so on, Indoor and outdoor is suitable.

It is the most common single control led strips.
