Experts also said that at present, China's LED lighting market has formed a certain scale of industry, but at the same time it also faces the problems of insufficient sustainable development of technical support, industrial resources do not gather, the development of the environment needs to be optimized, the need for further exploration of business promotion models.

Integrated technology breaks through the “LED lighting industry chain is long, the key technology points are many, most companies can get a leading position at a certain point, and there are many leading technology points in domestic R&D institutions, but the technical core of LED lighting is integrated in the system.” Chinese Academy of Engineering Academician Zhao Liancheng said.

In recent years, some famous universities and scientific research institutes in China have successively carried out research and development of LED disciplines. At present, China has applied for more than 50 patents in the core technology field of LED lighting, which has solved problems such as short service life, severe glare, poor energy saving, heavy and bulky, and high price of LED lighting fixtures.

Among them, Taiyuan University of Technology uses core patents and integration technology to break through, so that China's main components for lighting high-end system integration products no longer rely on imports, but also broke the monopoly of foreign advanced semiconductor lighting technology, mastered in the semiconductor lighting industry Initiative.

The high-brightness blue and green LED epitaxial wafers (ZHCH-W) and its chips (ZHCH-C) developed by the university have been recognized as national key new products by the 4 national ministries and commissions in 2004. Key products such as LED, LD epitaxial wafers and chips To reach the international advanced level.

At present, Taiyuan University of Technology has begun exporting patents, technologies, management, brands and standards. At the same time, relying on the school's R & D and talent training platform, Shanxi Feihong Micro-Nano Optoelectronic Technology Co., Ltd. Responding to innovation challenges However, in the past few years, due to the lack of core technologies and patents, the blind investment in the LED industry at a low level is serious. “70% of our enterprises can only dwell on the downstream low-tech low-tech packaging and assembly links and compete with each other at low levels,” said Zhou Lian.

Zhou Lian believes that under the promotion of the country and policy support, the manufacturing cost of China's LED lighting products is continuously declining. The demand for LED lighting market continues to expand, and a certain industrial scale has been formed, but there are also many challenges.

First, there is not enough technical support for sustainable development, and R&D support is insufficient and power is dispersed.

Second, industrial resources do not gather, and the industrial structure needs to be integrated. The scale of the company is small and scattered, the degree of concentration is not high, the distribution of industrial regions is decentralized, and high-end products and leading talents are lacking.

Third, the development environment needs to be optimized. The policy does not form a joint force. The standards, testing and certification systems need to be improved.

Fourth, there is a lack of core technology patents, and the cooperation between production, study and research is loose. Although the LED luminous efficiency has been continuously improved, there are still problems that need to be solved, such as low electro-optical conversion efficiency, poor heat dissipation performance, color rendering index of warm white LED lighting, and difficult color temperature control.

The experts pointed out that the deep integration of the industry chain has become the LED development trend, companies should increase investment in R & D, core technology and system integration application innovation to meet the challenges in order to gain greater voice in the international competition.
