Maxim touch ICs can support up to 15-inch capacitive touch screens At the just-concluded 2011 World Conference on Mobile Communications, Maxim released two new projection capacitive touchscreen controllers, the MAX11855 and MAX11871, to expand the existing product line. The MAX11855 and MAX11871 support 4-point and 10-point touch detection, respectively, and offer industry-leading sensitivity and noise rejection, as well as ballpoint/stylus and gloved touch.

Finger-Touch Display on Low Signal-to-Noise Ratio Devices The MAX11871 is a mutual-capacitance touchscreen controller that can simultaneously detect and track 10-finger touches with approximately 60dB of signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) performance, with comparable ratios of touch and non-touch surfaces.
