Precautions for rinsing insulators with pressurized water

Pay attention to the following points when washing the insulator with pressurized water:

(1) The flushing angle (the angle between the water column and the central axis of the equipment to be flushed) is preferably maintained at 90°. If the conditions are not allowed, keep 60 °, but the angle should not be too small. A projection angle of 30° to 40° can be used for flushing the tensile insulator string.

(2) For vertically mounted insulators, flush them one by one from bottom to top; for tensile insulator strings, first flush the insulators on the charged side, then move them one by one, and finally rinse the insulators at the ground.

(3) In the same substation, it is not advisable to flush different phases at the same time, and the water column should not be connected to two phases to prevent short circuit.

(4) During the flushing, due to the change of the voltage distribution, a spark may be generated in a place where the voltage is high. At this time, the water column may be directly aligned with the spark flush to extinguish the spark.

(5) Flushing water should not be flushed onto the equipment to seal the parts that are not milky or defective, nor should the water column be flushed against the isolating switch knife gate to avoid opening the knife gate and causing accidents.

(6) When the wind is high, the air humidity is high, and the rainy weather, and the temperature difference between the water and the insulator is large, it is not suitable for the flushing operation.
