Rima Qureshi, head of Ericsson North America, said in an interview that he is preparing to expand cooperation with Cisco to provide services to new corporate customers and public sector customers next year.
Kusch also said that at the end of 2015, the two companies established a cooperative relationship. Before 2018, they hoped that the cooperation would increase the revenue of each other by 1 billion US dollars. Now they are moving toward the goal.
In the first year of cooperation, the two companies received more than 60 transactions. Kusch said that the focus of the previous focus was on telecom operators, and that corporate and public sector customers will be valued next year.
Kusch said: "In some areas we can work together, such as Industry & Society, Internet of Things, smart cities, we are investing in these areas; in the future we will target specific public sectors, especially transportation and utilities ...and then we will focus on other areas, such as security."
According to Kusch, by 2020, 25% of Ericsson’s revenue will come from businesses other than telecom operators.
