Office peripherals market: Price index continues to rise, and market sentiment has declined

The market price index for office peripherals in May was 95.39 points, up 0.55 points month-on-month, or 0.58%, down 0.18 points or 0.19% year-on-year. The market sentiment index was 872.38 points, a decrease of 25.74 points month on month, a decrease of 2.87%, and a year-on-year decrease of 59.03 points, a decrease of 6.34%.

The price index of office peripherals continued to show an upward trend this month, and the increase in the prices of office products this month was still affected by the tight supply of the market. Since last month, office products have affected the supply of body parts for office products due to the earthquake in Japan. This not only led to insufficient supply of existing products, but also delayed the time to market for new products, resulting in high product prices. For example: Hewlett-Packard laser printer P1007, after the price rises to about 1000 yuan, the price has remained high.

The business climate index of office peripherals declined in May, falling by 2.87%. The decline in the monthly prosperity index was mainly due to the decline in the scale index. Due to the lack of supply and the traditional off-season sales, the monthly scale index fell significantly, which led to the decline in the prosperity index.

Although some new products will be listed in the office products in June, the out-of-stock situation is still not optimistic. China’s Zhongguancun Electronic Information Products Index (EPI) expects that the office-type price index will remain high in June, and the prosperity index will continue to fall.
