The U.S. raises tariffs on led components exported from China, with little impact on the industry

Yesterday, the us unveiled a list of punitive tariffs on Chinese imports, totalling about 1,300 items, and proposed a 25 per cent punitive tariff on Chinese products on the list. The list of commodities is diversified and includes led components.
It is reported that the U.S. tariff on China's list of led products including ( solar cells ), ( diodes, transistors, similar semiconductors, photosensitive device semiconductor devices, led and piezoelectric crystal ), ( backlight led ) these three categories.
And because the relevant led components of the industry exports accounted for a very low proportion of the industry, industry people expect the impact on China's led industry is not big.
Wang Fei, an analyst at Commonwealth consulting ledinside, said several projects related to the led industry accounted for a very low proportion of the total export value of China's led industry, only within 5 % of the industry's export value, and even less directly exported to the United States, according to the us list of tax levied on Chinese products.
A large proportion of China's real exports to the United States are for downstream applications, such as lighting product categories,, etc., but these are not included in the list.
Therefore, this tax list has little impact on China's led industry, and may increase direct procurement costs for led downstream applications in the United States.
