Philips intends to try OLED TV's first product unveiled during the year

Now many manufacturers have introduced OLED TVs. At a recent conference, Danny Tack from Philips Television said that Philips is also now trying OLED TVs. Danny Tack said: “The price of OLED screens is declining. If you look back a year ago, the price of OLED TVs is even three times that of high-end LED TVs. Eventually OLED TVs will also dominate the market, with high dynamics of OLED screens. Contrast will be one of the driving forces of this kind of market change. And if we don't follow the trend of OLED now, then after one or two years we will be left behind by other competitors."

As for the supply of OLED screens, Danny Tack has also expressed sincerely that Philips will use LG's screen, and in terms of selling price, the products from Philips will also be the same as those of LG's. Danny Tack believes that chasing low prices is stupid, but Philips will use its own image algorithm at the same time as it does not compromise on selling price. Although price positioning is close, Danny Tack is confident that Philips OLED TVs will give users a better experience. Of course, judging from the current market conditions, it will not be sufficient to leave Philips with OLED TVs, and Philips will formally bring its first OLED TV later this year.

As for the application of 3D technology on TV, Danny Tack's negative attitude indicates that not only is there a lack of 3D resources, but no one really cares about 3D effects, and it also makes the TV itself more complicated. What users want is just Jane. Simple viewing experience, even LG has announced that it will no longer launch 3D TV.

In addition, the outlook for curved screen televisions is not optimistic. Tech Radar said that they recently contacted Sony and Philips and asked why there were few models of curved TVs. Both Sony and Philips stated that they kept curved TVs in the product line because they needed to leave room for users to choose. The meaning of the curved screen itself is actually not great. At present, LG has stated that it will focus on flat-screen TVs and OLED TVs in the future, and Philips is also likely to follow this strategy.
