Focus on the indoor lighting market

Shengjing Optoelectronics has entered the LED lighting industry since 2007. “We started by imitating manufacturing, and gradually added some independent innovations.” Xu said, “Our first indoor lighting project is the lighting renovation project of Minhang District Science and Technology Commission and Science and Technology Museum in Shanghai. Thousands of LED fluorescent tubes, 6000 bulbs.” In 2008, the company focused on indoor lighting, which currently accounts for more than half of the company's sales.

For the quality of the lamps, Mr. Xu believes that the supplier selection of the lamp beads is very important. The quality of the light source of the large products such as Cree is good, such as VF consistency and chip stability are much better, of course, the unit price is also more expensive. The heat dissipation structure takes a lot of thoughts to test and compare, and at the same time, it is necessary to consider the volume and weight issues and combine various factors to select materials. There are many factors that need to be considered comprehensively in the power supply, such as the stability of the input and output electrical parameters, and the external dimensions.

At present, the company has two appearance patents. The heat dissipation capability of these two appearances is particularly strong. "At the Guangzhou International LED Exhibition in March this year, customers tested our bulbs on the spot, and the effect was good. More than 200 bulbs were ordered on the spot. Mr. Xu said: The company's products have better color rendering performance, and a famous jewelry store in Hong Kong used the company's LED spotlights.

Mr. Xu told reporters that the current cost of lamp beads accounts for more than 40% of the cost of lamps, and the cost of power supplies accounts for about 20-30%. But for a really good LED tube: reliable heat dissipation structure design, stable power supply design and material selection, high quality LED are all indispensable. The shell with the least cost is actually quite important.

Many current energy-saving retrofits are carried out by EMC or other similar models to compensate for the investment cost by saving electricity bills. Mr. Xu said that in the LED fluorescent lamp, it only takes 1 to 1.5 years to recover the cost, especially in some commercial occasions where the lighting time is long in supermarkets, shops and factories.

Optimistic about LED street light business opportunities

Since the launch of the Ten Cities Wanhao project, many LED lighting manufacturers have been involved in the field of LED street lights, and Shengjing Optoelectronics is no exception. According to reports, Shengjing Optoelectronics began to develop and produce LED street lights in 2007. In 2007, it installed dozens of gongs in Wenzhou, and it is still in use. They are also following up.

At the beginning of this year, the Shenzhen Street Light Management Office organized an LED street light test, and 27 LED street lights participated in the test. The company did not declare due to lack of preparation. "The next test we will fight to install." Xu said. He is confident that he will be able to take a slice of the 2010 Ten Thousand Cities Project. The company has studied street lamps in Taiwan, and he believes that Taiwan's LED street lights are deeper than the mainland.

The company currently produces LED drive power itself. They also considered the purchase of products from Maoshuo and Mingwei. "There is a problem with the collocation here. Their power supply is for various specifications, and it is not necessarily compatible with our street lamps, or they have a stronger sense of trust in their own work." Xu said.

Future price wars will become increasingly fierce

 

With the expansion of the LED market, many companies have entered the LED market, making the price war in the LED market increasingly fierce. "Now some foreign customers have to bargain with us for $0.50. They can change suppliers for $0.50. The profits of this industry have been killed very low, although the entire market is expanding." Xu said.

Even so, Xu is still full of confidence in the future. He said that as long as there is light, LEDs can be used to replace them. The market is huge. As long as the technology and market development capabilities are strong enough, they are not afraid of competition.

Now the company pays more attention to cooperation with engineering companies to develop the market. The main reason is that engineering companies have a lot of network resources, and the resources of the people are very important for winning the government project. "Some demonstration costs are borne by the engineering company, not necessarily by the manufacturer." Xu said.

The company is also doing OEM work for some foreign companies. Mr. Xu believes that contracting for others is also a way to open up the market. In addition, the technical requirements they propose are also conducive to improving the quality and quality of products.

The spotlight and fluorescent lamp market will expand on a large scale, and the growth of customer concept will be a major driving force for market development. Although domestic consumption power is relatively weak now, as long as the concept turns around, they are also willing to buy. The hot scenes of the Hong Kong Lighting Fair in October 2008 and 2009 left a deep impression on Mr. Xu.
