Philips Group's LED manufacturer Lumileds is optimistic about the lighting market and launches new high-power products to attack solid-state lighting (LED lighting) business opportunities. Steve Barlow, executive vice president of business and marketing at Lumileds, pointed out that the LED lighting market will have a big growth and is a good opportunity for Lumileds to lock in streetlights, regional lighting, and indoor commercial lighting applications.
According to Barlow, LED lighting for different application areas will require different specifications. For example, indoor lighting is warmer, outdoor is biased towards cool colors, and shopping areas use light with higher color temperature. Low lighting, etc., and indoor lighting for different applications, LED lighting products are also different.
Barlow pointed out that Lumileds is aiming at lighting applications and has launched nine LUXEON REBEL LED lighting products to meet the different needs of different customers for color temperature and color rendering. According to Barlow, Lumileds is the only lighting product that meets the Energy Star specifications and has good luminous efficiency and reliability.
According to Barlow, Lumileds' lighting solutions offer different colors, color renderings, and luminous efficiencies to meet customer needs, and this is Lumileds' first product for the lighting market. Barlow pointed out that Lumileds will continue to expand LUXEON's product portfolio to meet the needs of more customers.
In addition, the well-known American retailer Wal-Mart has begun to set up LED street lights in parking garages as a demonstration point for promoting LED lighting. Since Lumileds customers have entered Wal-Mart, Lumileds also indirectly entered the Wal-Mart supply chain.
