STMicroelectronics has introduced the new Cartesio+ application processor with built-in GPS chips for the next generation of automotive and portable navigation systems. It combines processing performance and positioning capabilities with a rich integration of peripheral components.

Cartesio+ system single-chip? 裼糜T's 55nm oxygen process technology, integrated ARM1176 processor and GPS / Galileo positioning subsystem to improve indoor positioning sensitivity, and integrated an advanced 3D graphics engine and a large number of connectivity peripheral components, including multiple SD/MMC, CAN, and USB integrating physical layer chips.
ST said that it optimized Cartesio+'s built-in graphics acceleration engine. For the generation of 3D map content, the patented anti-aliasing technology of the T-softens the jagged edges of digital images to make the map images clear and easy. Read, and does not affect the performance of the processor. Cartesio+ integrates the video input terminal of an auxiliary device and a hardware JPEG decoder. The former can be connected to a rear view camera to improve the safety of the driver's parking. The latter allows the user to quickly view the picture without occupying the chip main processor. Cartesio+ offers advanced power management features based on power island technology in different areas of the wafer. Cartesio+ supports dynamic adjustment of the built-in core frequency to increase battery life in portable applications. To support customer design, ST offers a complete set of cost-optimized portable navigation system development tools. With Cartesio+ as the core built-in, the tool integrates the advanced GPS RF chip STA5630 with application processor and built-in low noise amplifier, and the other three key components of ST: STW4210 power management chip, audio processing amplifier / LED display driver and STA2500D Bluetooth controller.
