The development of the underlying technology of Facebook's new patented AR glasses

The Oculus division of Facebook is currently submitting the latest patent application. This patent indicates that Facebook has completed the development of the underlying technology of AR smart glasses. This patent application is "The waveguide display of a two-dimensional scanner can place computer-generated components in a real-world context." In the frame of the display and the glasses, the media is presented to the user's eyes, thereby redefining the smartphone. This technology can provide real-world vision while placing virtual digital objects in it. Interestingly, the patent listed three Oculus (owner of Facebook) engineer inventors. One of them was Pasi Saarikko, who worked at HoloLens before joining Oculus, so the patent has a lot to do with Hololens. In addition to being able to overlay photos and videos in real-time live images, glasses will also be able to play audio when connected to a pair of headphones or speakers. Facebook also seems to want to make them look like ordinary fashion glasses, instead of using most of the VR helmets to exaggerate the appearance today. This means that companies must find or develop small components to suit them. However, analysts believe that the components needed for this small size have not yet been used in large quantities. Facebook still has a long way to go.
