Toshiba America Electronic Components Inc. announced the launch of a new compact high-efficiency white LED that is twice as bright as the previous generation and claims that the TLWK1100B is the industry's highest brightness product in this size white LED. The new TLWK1100B LED achieves 1500 mcd at 20 mA. Suitable for automotive lighting design, LCD backlighting, panel indicators, and replacing incandescent bulbs in certain lighting applications.
The TLWK1100B is available in a standard PLCC2 surface mount package measuring 3.2mm x 2.9mm x 1.9mm. The high-brightness white light output of the LED is made of a blue LED made of InGaN material with a yellow phosphor. The maximum power consumption is only 114mW and the typical forward voltage is 3.2V. The operating temperature is minus 40 degrees Celsius to positive 100 degrees.
