He mentioned that currently HP's new generation Gen8 server has been fully developed for Intel and AMD. The cooperation with AMD is based on the latest Xiaolong 6200 series. Although HP also previously supported the G7 series of servers, the enhancements in product features, performance, and ease of use after upgrading to Gen8 are quite different.

The two new products are the HP ProLiant DL385p Gen8 rack server and the HP ProLiant BL 465c Gen8 server blade.

The two servers announced this time are server products for heavy-load applications and can provide users with the highest level of core density at the same price to meet the application environments of high-performance computing, virtualization, and cloud computing. The HP Proliant DL385P Gen8 is a 2U rack server that uses a 12-core and 16-core Opteron 6200 processor platform. It supports 8 or 12 3.5-inch hard drives (depending on the head design) and 16 or more. 25 2.5-inch hard drives (also depending on server head design). With excellent performance and flexibility, it has innovations in management functions, features, etc., and it is extremely cost-effective. It is ideal for virtualization, databases, and high-performance computing workloads.

Hewlett-Packard from the previous generation of Gen7 server began to produce server products based on Xiaolong platform, and Gen8 is an upgraded version.

At the same time, all new Gen8 selling points are embodied in these two AMD architecture servers, such as the HP Smart Array P420i Disk Control Card, freely selectable network components, and HP iLo remote management chips.
