A Brief Review of Production and Marketing of Home Appliances Market in July 2012

First, the refrigerator: production and sales are still sluggish

Industry online monitoring data showed that in July 2012, refrigerator production and sales were 7.22 million units and 7.92 million units, respectively, down 0.7% and 2.1% year-on-year respectively. From the perspective of various indicators of the industry, both historical and historical periods have declined to different degrees. Despite the introduction of energy-saving subsidies in June, the growth situation is not satisfactory from the point of view of corporate production and sales. On the one hand, home appliances have been overdrawn. There is more spending power, and at the corporate level, this energy-saving subsidy policy has not brought significant benefits to the company. From the aspect of data growth, it lacks supporting elements. Despite the unfavorable situation both at home and abroad, the companies still implement the production plan according to the annual plan, especially some second and third line brands. At the end of last year, various companies were more cautious about the 12-year growth expectation. Therefore, the difference between the actual situation and the corporate plan this year is not too great.

According to customs data, in July 2012, the total volume of refrigerators exported by Chinese enterprises was 2.251 million, and the total export volume was 300 million U.S. dollars. The volume of exports this month decreased by 3.1% year-on-year, and decreased by 9.5% year-on-year; the value of exports decreased by 1.8% year-on-year and 10.5% year-on-year. . The unit price of refrigerators exported this month averaged 135 US dollars per unit, an increase of 1.3% over the same period last year.

Second, the washing machine: the industry is running low

Industry online monitoring data show that in July 2012, China's household washing machine industry output totaled 3.995 million units, an increase of 2.4% year-on-year; total sales volume was 3.818 million units, down 2.8% year-on-year. Of which, domestic shipments were 2,054 units, a sharp drop of 8.8% year-on-year, and a slight increase of 1.8% from June 2012.

From January to July 2012, the total output of the domestic washing machine industry in China was 30.143 million units, which was basically the same as the same period of last year; total sales volume was 30.795 million units, a slight increase of 1.2% year-on-year. Of which, 18.9 million units were shipped domestically, a year-on-year decline of 5.5%.

From the product structure point of view, in July 2012, the domestic production of washing machine drums was 941,000 units, an increase of 11% year-on-year; total sales were 943,000 units, an increase of 9.9% year-on-year. Domestic energy-saving subsidies for drum washing machines supported a slight increase, and are expected to rebound slightly in the second half of 2012. The market outlook is promising.

The washing machine industry sales in July 2012 still delivered bleak results. Domestic sales continued the embarrassing situation in June, a year-on-year slowdown, and exports increased year-on-year, but failed to stop the total sales volume from falling year-on-year. Overall, the industry is still operating at low levels this month.

Third, household air conditioning: poor production and sales in the off-season

Industry online monitoring data show that in July 2012, the total production volume of household air conditioners was 8.17 million units, a year-on-year decrease of 15.07% and a decrease of 16% from the previous quarter. In 2012, the cumulative production in the cold year was 101.482 million units, a year-on-year decline of 11.43%. In July, the total sales volume was 8.468 million units, a year-on-year decrease of 9.97% and a decrease of 19.8% from the previous quarter. The cumulative sales volume in the cold year was 103.91 million units, a year-on-year decrease of 7.54%. The air-conditioning companies' production in August decreased slightly, mainly due to the end of the cold year's end of major equipment maintenance, factory and office holidays, and the time varies from one week to two weeks.

In July 2012, sales volume was 5.088 million units, a year-on-year decrease of 15%. In the cold year of 2012, the total domestic sales amounted to 57,413,600 units, a year-on-year decrease of 7.04%. Some air-conditioning companies reported that the July shipment was better than expected, mainly because of the high temperature in some cities. The tropical weather caused a sudden outbreak of sales of air-conditioning terminals, and some air-conditioning companies had good shipments. According to the feedback from terminal retail monitoring data, sales in the two weeks from July 9 to July 22 have increased by a large margin compared with the same period of last year, and the high temperature has really stimulated air-conditioning consumption. In addition to the weather and the clearing of the reservoir, the completion of this cold-year task in the last month, and the start of the new cold year ahead of schedule are another reason why some of the factory's domestic sales are higher than the same period last year.

In July 2012, the export volume was 3.38 million units, a year-on-year decrease of 1.11%. In the cold year of 2012, the total export volume of air conditioners was 46.48 million units, an increase of 8.15% year-on-year. After July, exports from overseas markets such as North America and Europe ended, and air-conditioning exports entered the off-season. In the second half of the year, air-conditioning exports are concentrated in the southern hemisphere. Some companies focus on the South American market. The emerging market economy has maintained its upward momentum and the market has great potential. The demand for medium and high-end products has further increased. Fourth, color TV: domestic exports rebounded

Industry online monitoring data show that in July 2012, China’s TV production was about 7.488 million units and sales were 7.539 million units. Among them, exports and domestic sales accounted for about 61% and 39% of the total sales, respectively. In July, the overall domestic TV market rebounded. However, exports fell further, with exports falling 14.4% year-on-year and 12.2% sequentially. In July, the overall situation of domestic television sales improved, rising by 12% from June and slightly up by 1.1% year-on-year.

From the domestic sales situation, this month's TV sales amounted to nearly 2.97 million units, which accounted for 39% of the total sales. Compared with the sales volume in the same period of last year, there was a slight increase of 1.1%. Judging from the monthly operating situation, the overall TV network sales in the first half of 2012 were relatively unfavorable, and remained sluggish during the first half of the year. In July, more than 30% of the energy-saving subsidy policies implemented in the two months after the implementation of the energy-saving subsidy policy were able to reach energy-saving products, stimulating consumption.
