TSIA pointed out that Taiwan has 11 semiconductor manufacturing plants including TSMC, UMC, World's Advanced, Powerchip, Nanke, ProMOS, Regent, Giant Crystal, Winbond, Inacore, and Han Lei to join the World Semiconductor Industry Association (WSC). Environmental commitment.

With the joint efforts of all members, TSIA stated that by the end of 2010, the absolute absolute value of total PFC GHG emissions in the semiconductor industry in Taiwan has dropped to less than 90% of the average emissions in 1997 and 1999, and the target has been successfully achieved. .

Taiwan’s semiconductor company’s energy use per unit of wafer is 44% lower than it was 10 years ago and 6% less than the average WSC usage. TSIA pointed out that water usage per unit of wafer is also reduced by 51% compared to 10 years ago. It is 38% less than the average WSC usage.

According to TSIA, the wafer waste produced at a Taiwan fab is 22% less than a decade ago and 31% less than the WSC average waste. Among them, the performance of water saving and waste reduction ranks among the six semiconductor associations worldwide. crown.

TSIA pointed out that WSC is currently actively formulating the next 10 years of environmental protection goals, among which the project on energy saving and carbon reduction is expected to be finalized at the WSC Secretariat (JSTC) hosted by TSIA in February of next year and continue to work for the maintenance of the global environment.
