The first World Internet Conference will be held on November 19-21 in Wuzhen, Zhejiang, China. This is the largest and highest-level Internet conference held in China, and it is also an unprecedented global summit in the Internet field.

The conference was jointly sponsored by the State Internet Information Office of the People's Republic of China and the People's Government of Zhejiang Province. The conference was jointly organized by the Zhejiang Provincial Network Information Office, the Zhejiang Economic and Information Commission, the Tongxiang Municipal Government and the China Internet Network Information Center.

Lu Wei introduced that the theme of this conference is "interconnection and sharing and common governance." He pointed out that cyberspace has become an important strategic area for promoting economic development, disseminating advanced culture, deepening international exchanges, safeguarding national sovereignty, and promoting world peace, and cyberspace governance has also become a common challenge faced by the international community.
