Built-in viewing service LG Samsung TV favored by Russia

Orion Express is Russia's second-largest pay-TV operator. Its main business is satellite television broadcasting. Its market share in Russia is 16%, ranking first in Tricolor TV, which occupies 76% of the market. Recently, Orion Express stated that it will enter into a strategic cooperation agreement with Samsung and LG. In the smart TVs of Samsung and LG, there will be a built-in service called “Telekarat”.


Samsung and LG TVs are favored by Russian cable operators


The service, called "Telekarat", provides pay TV viewers with about 200 TV stations. The content of the TV programs is transmitted via satellites that comply with the DVB-S22 transmission protocol. According to public data, by the end of 2015, Orion Express has reached 2.8 million paying customers.

Orion Express stated that both Samsung and LG TV are popular brands in Russia, which is one of the main reasons why they cooperate with the two companies. By providing corresponding services, users can enjoy a better viewing experience. In addition, Orion Express will also provide television signals to other smaller cable operators.
