Philips re-launched new skills ski suit with 7000 LED lights

According to the Daily Mail, in a video, a team of skiers dressed in costumes decorated with 7000 LED lights slid down the slopes illuminated by colored spotlights to showcase the high-tech lighting that brought skiing.

This 12-minute film was taken in the Golden Alpine Resort in British Columbia and Alaska. In order to illuminate the entire huge mountain slope, the staff used eight 4000-watt headlights and other small lights. The drone and the fixed camera took pictures of the skiers sliding down the slope.

The ski microfilm "Yu Hui" was created in collaboration with Ahlstrand & Wllgren to promote Philips' Ambilight TV. All the scenes were taken at night, and the peaks, slopes and skiers in the photos were dyed in neon colors.

This 12-minute film was taken by the "Sweetgrass" creative team in parts of British Columbia and Alaska. Every Gorethes fabric on the ski suit is sewed with thousands of LED lights that are waterproof and connected to a candy-sized battery.

The team's staff used "washer-sized" lights plus scaffolding, wires and generators to illuminate the ski trails. The short film took five weeks and cost £9,000 and was taken at minus 15 degrees Fahrenheit.

Despite the cost of the short film, the company received some assistance from Philips because it facilitated the promotion of Philips' Ambilight series. In this way, Philips hopes to promote the superiority of its colorful streamer lighting technology and to show people how light can completely change people's experience.

“The overflowing streamer technology extends the size of the TV screen by throwing light that matches the color of the TV screen to the wall behind the TV,” said Mark Halson, global marketing director at TP Vision.

The biggest problem with LED ski suits is that whenever a skier kicks a snowflake, especially in a corner, the lights always look like the lights in the fog. It is a problem to make the snow in the air evenly spread to take beautiful photos without affecting the skier's vision.

“LED ski wear is a joint product of the Swedish company Ahlstrand & Wllgren and Philips TV,” said Nick Wagner, founder of the “Sweetgrass” manufacturing team. “This naturally promotes Philips's overflowing streamline TV and its brilliance style.”
