The maintenance worker claimed that a certain brand of air conditioning special maintenance workers, but only a single person when they came to the door and no outdoor safety when operating the belt, due to aging outdoor air conditioning support, and eventually fell due to stepped down from the third floor. In this incident, on the one hand, maintenance workers did not abide by the operating rules and ultimately led to the tragedy. On the other hand, the aging problem of air-conditioning brackets was once again brought to the public.

As far as the determination of responsibility is concerned, if the air-conditioning support is worn out and falls down, the purchaser of the air-conditioner is directly responsible. Some people have called for property and manufacturers to be responsible for this, but the property lacks related technologies. Manufacturers can provide reminders and provide maintenance. However, consumers who ultimately need to purchase products are responsible for the air-conditioning support.

It is worth noting that most air-conditioning users do not know how long their own air-conditioning brackets can be used, and it is difficult for manufacturers responsible for installation to give an exact time. The reason is often that “the situation of each household is different, and the service life of brackets is different. ". There are also no mandatory regulations on manufacturers and properties in the current regulations.

On December 13, 2007, Shanghai Jiaotong Electric Appliance Industry Association announced the "Administrative Regulations on the Installation and Use of Air Conditioning Equipment in Shanghai". This provision mentions that users of air-conditioning equipment should regularly inspect and maintain the air-conditioning equipment. When the equipment exceeds the service life or causes severe corrosion and damage, it should be proactively repaired. In addition, the regulation also mentions that the property should conduct a related inspection every year and remind the user. Unfortunately, this provision does not mention how to determine the service life of air-conditioning brackets, and there is no legal force that can be considered as a reminder.

In response to the frequent occurrence of old air-conditioning support accidents, the China Household Appliance Service and Maintenance Association released the “Specification for the Installation of Outdoor Units for Air-Conditioner Outdoor Units” this year, which specifies the monitoring specifications for air-conditioned outdoor units, such as the service life. Below the service life of the air conditioner itself (10 to 12 years), the material used for the bracket must be 3 mm or more angle steel or galvanized steel. However, according to the association’s argument, the code is expected to become a national mandatory standard next year. Today, it is only a “guidance” specification that does not have legally binding force. This means that this year's relevant standards are likely to continue to be missing, consumers need to maintain and often check the air-conditioning brackets - although most consumers do not have this awareness. For now, consumers need to take the initiative to call the manufacturer's official service hotline to replace the stand when they observe that the stand is significantly rusted and shaken.

On the other hand, it is unclear whether the crashed air-conditioning repairman belongs to a regular license. When this reporter specifically interviewed the official maintenance department of the air-conditioner, they said that it was not convenient to accept the interview and it was not clear what the situation was.
